KATHANG KATSA WITH COCO SACKS

The idea of upcycling flour sacks is nothing new specially in the Philippines as it has long been used by our Lolas and Titas. Resourceful Filipina women use flour sacks into blankets, pillow cases, infant napkins, towels, and dresses.

Kathang Katsa has collaborated with Coco Sacks in creating this campaign. Through the production of the garments, we gathered the flour sacks from Coco Sacks, a home-based supplier managed by Ms. Juvielyn Almazan Manese based in Quezon City. With the purpose to promote a sustainable lifestyle and help laundrywomen from her community, she collects flour sacks from bakeries which are initially intended for disposal.
